How we build trust
Plain answers to “who checked this?” and “what happens to my money?”
Installer verification
Installers apply with their business registration (or ID for individual technicians), licences and certifications, insurance where applicable, references from past customers and examples of their work.
Our team checks the documents, contacts at least one reference and records each check. Only verified installers are invited to quote, and each profile shows when it was verified and what was checked.
Verification can be suspended if an installer's documents expire or after a serious dispute. Verification is our own review. It is not a government licence or an engineering certification.
Product documentation
Suppliers list products with manufacturer datasheets, certificates and warranty terms. We check that the listing matches the documents. Products show “Documents reviewed” when we have done this, and certificates are labelled as claimed by the supplier.
Milestone payments
Your payments go to a licensed payment provider and are held until the related work is done: for example, the installation instalment is only released after installation is complete and you approve it.
Release rules are shown before you pay. If you open a dispute, releases can be paused while our team reviews it.
Installation quality checks
Before handover, installers upload photos of the panels, inverter, battery, distribution board, protection devices, cable management and earthing, every serial number, and commissioning test results. Our team reviews them before you're asked to accept.
Solar Passport
Every accepted installation gets a permanent record of its equipment, serial numbers, warranties, maintenance and repairs, which stays with the system if the property changes hands.
Reviews
Only customers with a completed project can review the installer who did it. Installers can respond but can't edit or remove reviews. Reviews containing contact details or links are held for moderation.
Honest estimates
Our solar estimates show every assumption: sun hours, efficiency, battery depth of discharge and margins. They are preliminary. A qualified installer confirms the final design after a site inspection, and larger or complex sites need a professional engineering assessment.
What we never do
We never create reviews, certifications or installer credentials, and we never show energy-production figures that a real device didn't report. Demo environments are clearly labelled as fictional.
